The Quad Cities community is heartbroken by the tragic loss of firefighter Ali Jasim of Rock Island, Illinois. Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and his brothers and sisters at the Blackhawk Fire Protection District during this unimaginable time.

Ali dedicated his life to serving others. He was a firefighter with Blackhawk Fire, a member of the MABAS Division 43 PEER Support Team, a Corrections Officer with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, and an ER Tech. In every role, he met people in their most vulnerable moments with unwavering compassion, humility, and quiet strength.

Beyond his official duties, Ali was a kind and genuine soul. He generously supported QC Fire Wire, helping with video edits and offering his skills and encouragement. He will be remembered not just for his uniforms, but for his profound care for people and community.

As we grieve this profound loss, we hold tight to his legacy. Ali Jasim’s impact on countless lives across fire service, law enforcement, and healthcare will not be forgotten. His example of selfless service will continue to inspire all who knew him.
