A missing person’s case ended in tragedy early Wednesday in St. Louis’s Central West End. A man previously reported missing from University City was discovered stabbed to death.
The discovery occurred around 1 a.m. on the 4200 block of Olive Street. University City officers, who had been searching for the man, tracked his phone to that location and alerted St. Louis Metropolitan Police. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with a puncture wound to his torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s identity has not yet been publicly released, pending family notification. The circumstances leading from his disappearance to his violent death remain unclear. St. Louis police have classified the incident as a homicide and confirm the investigation is active and ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
